Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She's co-founder as well as chief executive officer of Thrive Global, as well being the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a philanthropist and author, television personality and owner of the independently liberal online newspaper The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece she moved to England in the year 16 and then graduated at the age of 16 from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. In the years later she created The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present political climate. Arianna gained notoriety during 2003 when she ran as an independent in a recall campaign in California for the seat of then-Governor Davis. Aside from that she also led the Detroit Project to promote fuel-efficient vehicles. Forbes classified her as the 12th most influential female in media in 2009, and Guardian added her to the Top 100 Media List the same year. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made the president of that media group which included many at the time-operating AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Her parents were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were a management consultant as well as a journalist. Though she was close to her father, it was her bond with her mother that shaped her entire life. Even during her formative times, she demonstrated abilities to lead, and for this she is still well-known.
